I am a busy career woman. Working in a mainly male dominated field. I have a B.Sc in Conservation Biology with an additional certificate in Environmental Resource Management. What this means is that on a daily basis I can be pulling beaver dams, walking the road side beside a herbicide spray truck, repairing trucks, running a chainsaw and chipper pulling trees out of the ditch or any number of other things.
Over and above that my husband and I own and operate a tanning salon, just for the fun of it. And it adds a totally different twist to the rest of our life. LOL.
I am also the mother of a 10 year old daughter. We try to keep her very active as well. She is playing softball this year, loves roller blading and is currently a yellow belt in our martial arts training - on the adult grading system - so quite advanced really for her age.
I am currently in the process of testing towards my black belt in Aki-Jujitsu/Karate. This in itself has been a nearly 7 year process to this point and I have no intention of quitting any time soon.
I play competitive (provincial) level mixed fastball/slow pitch all summer. I usually play center field or rover and sometimes play third base. I love to challenge the game, running and diving both in the field and in the inner diamond. Sliding is not optional - I just do it.
Then along with all of that I through in cardio (running) nearly every day, weights at times and yoga. As well as hiking, camping and my biking which I really enjoy also.
I guess you could say I am a little different in what I choose to do and quite active through out my day.
