Totally slipping back in to old habits. Time to refocus and get back on that wagon.

Last night around 8 I thought I should work out, but I was afraid it was too late and I would be up all night - so I didn't do it and ended up snacking instead...ugh. At least if I had exercised I would have burned the late night snack...I also would have been too busy to eat!

I don't really meditate, but I don't think its total hogwash either so tonight I think I am going to do my "yoga burn" video. It is based on vinyasa yoga and is pretty fast moving so you get your heartrate up even if your not pouring sweat. Then there is a nice cool down section and a good couple of minutes where you just lie on the floor. I went to a counselor once who taught me a relaxation technique where you imagine every body part relaxing starting with your extremities and working your way to your core, I usually do this during that time. I am going to use that time to really reset myself...I am letting life get in the way of my happiness again and I will no longer sacrifie myself!

I was scared of exercising at night too but considering my work schedule that is the only time that I have to exercise. I have been working out daily around 7:00pm for an hour or so and it seems to be working fine for me. I usually get home around 8:30 and shower and just relax before heading to bed. It may be because my typical bedtime is until 11:00pm, but I have been sleeping like a baby. There were a few times that I wasn't able to make it to the gym at 7 and I went at 9 instead and I found that going at that time and getting home around 1030 and trying to still make my bedtime was impossible, plus I woke up in the morning with a bad headache both times that happened. Find a routine and try to stick with it, it can be really hard but I know that if I am able to do it, then anyone can because I seem to have the worst motivation/willpower. Good luck.

I am lucky enough to be home 3 days a week by 2:30...it seems that every week appts and such interfere with me actually getting the work out in....so I will often do it around 7 pm...which is fine, but yesterday I was tired and being done at 8 and starting at 8 can make a big difference. I really hope to establish a better routine soon. It is frustrating!

I hate working out at night! I have a hard time sleeping if I do, so I don't blame you for not getting that workout in. Sleep is sometimes just more important. Have fun with the yoga. I enjoy yoga, it makes you feel so good when you're done. Hit that reset button and get all that stress out in the yoga!

Good for you! You must take care of yourself before you can take care of others. Glad to see your priorities are straight.
