Annoyed with my scale, lol... I got myself the same scale I got my mother, because she really liked it, and it's more sensitive than the old one I had. Not to mention, depending on where you moved my old scale, you could change weight.

So now I got this new one and I weighed myself. It's been about 4 days and it says I'm up 0.5lbs. I haven't strayed from my diet, and I have been trying to work out almost every day. I'm hoping this is just one of those weird things like water weight or something... but it's pretty annoying. Not to mention, it's a bit weird that it weighed me at EXACTLY the same weight about a week ago (to the tenth of a pound)... which makes me wonder how sensitive it really is...

I love my Wii Active. There are still some exercises that I can't do very well. The inline skating kicks my butt. I just cannot get the right form to jump apparently. I fear it. I'd rather do squat holds or jump squats than the skating (even though jump squats are the same idea... I don't feel so bad because I don't see myself NOT getting the jumps... )

Also, today I'm being a total lazy butt. All I have for class today is a seminar, which has no grades. I'm just coming off Spring Break so I'm staying home and being lazy. Tomorrow I'll go into campus, though I have no class, and work on my proposal. I hope tomorrow my weight will be back to normal, or at least the same and I'll accept that somehow I gained 0.5lbs in the last 4 days.

Hey, you're back! Sounds like you had a really nice trip. So glad to hear it. I have a love/hate relationship with my scale right now. What kind did you get? I bought the Tanita. I guess it's okay, and I think the actual weight part is accurate, but I don't know how accurate the fat and water part are (read about these scales in a book I'm reading now by the doc on the Biggest Loser). But still, don't get too panicky about the scale showing added weight. If the book is true, your BLOOD VESSELS may be holding on to excess water. Ah, I'll quote the book here, "Body weight can vary (up) when acclimating to vigorous exercise - a phenomena called hyperhydration. Four weeks into the initial Biggest Loser show, accurate body-fat analysis showed that the men and women alike had gained fluid weight! And their kidneys were still sending strong signals indicating the body was fluid depleted! What happened? First, the body makes a clever adjustment the instant someone begins vigorous exercise: It holds onto extra fluid inside the blood vessels to maximize heart contraction and the body's ability to thermoregulate (get rid of excess heat). The previously sedentary Biggest Loser contestants - who started strenuous workouts in the middle of a stifling CA summer - exhibited this phenomena in spades. However, several things happened that have never before been reported in the annals of weight-loss medicine. Number one, the extra fluid amounts were huge, over 10, and sometimes approaching 15 pounds, perhaps due to the large size of the contestants. Secondly, they gained this fluid in the blood while remaining "relatively" dehydrated! Obviously, these countercurrents make the interpretation of scale weights tough, if not impossible." ...I don't know about you, but I found that pretty comforting! I know neither one of us is huge, and it's not a CA summer (yet), but the principle remains, right? So I'm still hoping and praying I'll have a decent number drop one of these days. That my body will realize and accept the fact that I'm going to work it out hard. Hope it encourages you, too! Enjoy your day!

Good to hear from you again too!! The scale I bought is the Weight Watchers scale - it's a pretty nice scale, measures all sorts of things (body fat %, water %, bone mass, etc) but I don't like the number it is giving me!! But that's good to know about water weight! I hope we both get a decent drop on the scale soon!! I know we can do it :)
