codechick's Journal, 03 Apr 12

Had to take Zoe to the vet this morning, her tumor is enlarged and bleeding. I'm preparing for the news that I have been dreading to hear. I feel that I need someone to comfort me, but don't really feel like talking to anyone...very strange feeling. Took the puppy for a jog since I took the day off and need something to take my mind off this. He's a great jogging pal, makes me run more than I want to. Still praying that I get to bring Zoe home

Just wanted to let you know I know what you are going through. I don't have human kids - my dogs are my kids. We lost one mini schnauzer to liver cancer at age 8 and then the other at 10. We were able to make both comfortable and one had to go through series of shots, meds, all sorts of things. About killed me. Really. I tear up just remembering it and that was a few years ago. Your other pup will help you get through this. I try to remember that none of us live forever and dog's lives are very short. All we can do is love them and take care of them until the end. Write to me if you need to talk. I've been here and know how hard it is. Hope you feel a hug from me.

Thanks for the support and hugs, it means a lot! I got to take her home, but she's still bleeding a bit, got some antibiotics to help the infection/bleeding. She is such a happy dog...She eats, chases squirls and the little pup and stuck her head out the window on the way home. It's just not time yet, so now I'm following her around making sure she doesnt bleed on stuff. Im very happy to have a little more time with her! Thanks again for the love!!!

I'm praying for your dog. God heals pets too. He healed a cat for me. My hubby was just going to put him out of his misery and I asked him to wait to let me pray for him and feed him. Scripture says all creation is waiting for the adoption of the sons of God. Well, if we believe in Christ we've been adopted already and all creation can be relieved of it's burden through us. This cat was so ferule and wild he wouldn't let me get close to him with medicine or if I had anything in my hands; so I laid just my hands on him when he'd let me and prayed that Jesus would heal him. He was scrawny from malnutrition, had ear mites, mange and fleas so bad there was no hair on his head or neck, and his ears and neck were bloody sores from his scratching. But within two months the infection was gone, bugs appeared all gone, ears were healed and all his hair grew back. That was nearly two years ago and I still have him; he's in the house now, a very healthy 16 lb male tabby cat. Still easily spooked by strangers, but very loving to me and hubby. He's a blessing to my older female cat too. She has a pal now. I pray your pal gets well. In Jesus name, AMEN!
