Hey yall, just got back from my final Christmas party. I had the munchies bad while we were there. This party was a diet buster if you ever saw one. They had caramel brownies, cheesecake, taco salad, roast beef, mashed potatoes, stuffing, corn cassarole, green bean cassarole, cookies, cakes, puddings, homemade candy, and more yummy YUMMY stuff. So much food. How can you resist such lovely food! Homemade! Delicious! Staring at you like the forbidded fruit of Eden. Just makes you want to eat the whole table. You just won't believe what I ate. You are just not going to beleive it when I tell you that I......I..........I........I..........I...........I............I......I....I............I....ATE........... NOT............ONE....... TINY......... CRUMB!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YEHAWWW!!! ;D I did not go hungry, I ate a small tuna salad 30 minutes before leaving, and as I had not had a lot of calories throughout the day, I packed with me a container with raw cut up brocolli and celery, 25 pistachioes, 2 reduced fat cheese sticks, and for dessert a sugar free lowfat pudding. I drank a LOT of Fresca, which I also brought. I'm sorry to be bragging on myself, but I have NEVER stuck to a diet so well at Christmas parties. Never. I still can't beleive I made it. what a releif. Well, enough about me :) Kaelyn met Santa for the first time. It was really cool, the Santa that they hired sang christmas carols with the kids, read a passage about the birth of Christ from the Bible, and let each kid sit on his lap for pictures, and gave them their present out of his sack(provided by parents of course). Kaelyn was a little nervous to go to him at first, didn't cry, but was a little unsure. However, after he gave her her gift and she watched all the other kids sit on his lap, she wanted to tell him thank you and give him kisses and hugs. It was a KODAK moment~sniff~, I think I got a little teary! It sure makes Christmas a lot more fun once you have kids. I was totally bummed about Christmas for a while, you know, missing the old traditions, and not getting to see my family at this time of year. But now, it's like we have our own family, and our own traditions. It's cool, like reliving your childhood almost. I was really dreading this Chistmas party, but I didn't blow my diet, I had fun and enjoyed the company(far more than I thought possible) and I feel great, about life, Christmas and everything! :D Merry Christmas ya'll!! Hope everyone has a great one! P.S. did I fool ya'll? Ya'll thought I blew it didn't ya? hehehehehe But seriously, I never could have done it without all the support of my new friends here at fatsecret. Knowing that ya'll are behind me gets me through the tough situations, and you know what? It wasn't so tough! No one said a word when I pulled out my own veggies, etc. I had a plate of regular food for Kaelyn, I just didn't eat any. As long as you are dicreet and don't go about broadcasting that "I'm on a diet, poor me, can't eat yummy stuff" the food pushers leave you alone. At least it worked for me. No one made me feel like a freak for eating my own goodies, or even seemed to notice(too busy feeding their fat faces! oh that was not nice..so sorry..lol) P.P.S. Sorry that P.S. was so long. LOL
