Bollocks.

I thought I did really well today food-wise (despite grazing at the cheese and salami tray at work) and I was so proud of myself and then I remembered the granola bar I had as a mid-morning snack, which unfortunatly puts me over my limit for the day.

I'm frustrated because I had a bad week last week, between family dinners (and parents who insist on giving their children left overs) and an associate-appreciate dinner at work and crashing sugar levels and etc, etc, etc. I can make up all the excuses I want, but at the end of the day, I just made bad choices. No one made me have chocolate cake at that dinner, but I wanted some. No one forced me to have stuffed-crust instead of regular pizza with my family, but I wanted it. And unfortuately I have to be ready to accept the consequences of those actions and those consequences took the form of gaining nearly a pound.

So I wanted to be all super-duper hardcore this week, lose that pound and then some, you know? But 2 days in and I failed at that goal. Granted I did a workout dvd yesterday (never doing "hula for weight loss" again...wow that chick is annoying!!!) and today was a shelter day so it was basically non-stop manual labor, and I've burned more than I've eaten, but it's still just so annoying, you know.

I need to talk to my shrink about why I'm sabotaging myself, but I've made enough progress to recognize on my own that that is what I'm doing.
