Just be glad that you still have an oppurtunity to change. My mother is diabetic and very overweight- I remember as a little girl the doctor told her to lose the weight and she didn't, now she can barely move ( she has had a stoke and does not have good balance to walk) so she is stuck. I keep telling myself that I can't let that happen to my boys. I don't want them to see me go through what my mother is going through.

I looked at my daughter who is 8 changing tonight and thought to myself, I cannot seal her fate.. My mother is very over weight as well. I have to do something different.. Thank you for your support. I am not wierded out at ALL - I know that God - has a plan and wants what is best for all of his children. I feel better knowing that I am not alone in this journey to healthy living. I have a 7 year old (who will be 8 in May) and a 3 year old (that will be 4 in July). Tonight at dinner my 8 year old asked how many calories he had eaten. I guess my calorie counting and making better choices is rubbing off on them ( however my husband is not a large man - so my boys are both little bean poles and need to gain weight. However they will be better husbands someday because they have seen how hard I am having to work to get it off.
I am proud that you are here with me. We can only take it one day at a time. I like to think by eating healthier now I am choosing to be around longer for my boys.
