madjak30's Journal, 26 Jan 12

Had a great day today...followed my food plan better than I thought...it seems to be getting easier to make the right choices...it was one of the guys in the office's birthday today, so we had a cake & celebrated (sang happy birthday to him), I chose to have my apple instead of a piece of cake...+1 on the choice meter...wifey wanted me to pick up dinner on the way home (we had to go out shortly after I got home), so I picked them up Subway but decided to just have a toasted tuna sandwich and a salad...+1 on the choice meter...my daughters had a "Family Dance" at their school with a bake sale as a fund raiser, so I bought my kids some baking and treats and declined for myself (that was easier than I thought it would have been)...+1 on the choice meter...

And got in 1hr of exercise...I'm tired & sweaty, but I feel really good about my day...+1 on the choice meter...

WOOHOO...+4...I mean four healthy choices today that I normally may not have made...VERY GOOD DAY!!

Fresh start tomorrow...let's have another good one!!

Later.

Yes it is...it's like a switch tripped and now I'm having less cravings for the junk food...I still want to have it, but I find it much easier to resist...still pretty happy with myself...and today seems to be going just as well!! Later.

Thanks so much for this post! I am encouraged and inspired by you giving yourself credit for making good choices in different moments/situations during your day and then adding them up like that. I tend to focus on the the screw-ups I do and then lose hope for the rest of the day. Or I "cave" to one temptation and then feel like that is permission for me to blow the rest of the day. I DO make good choices. I AM making more of them everyday. Thank you for reminding me that it is important "score 1" for the good choices!
