Man O Man.. The frustration never ends. Get this - Wednesday night, I did 30 mins elliptical and an hour step class. Last night I did 30 mins Spin and an hour Step class. The sweat factor for both days was a 10 and my heart rate was right where it should be. I ate GREAT, did not have a single questionnable item. I ate fruit before I worked out and peanut butter afterwards just like my leader told me to. I weighed myself this morning and I am a pound heavier than on Tuesday? Please tell me this will even out. I mentally can not handle another gain at weigh in this week.

Boyfriend says I am becoming obsessed, which, i'll admit, I am. But how can anyone blame me? I am trying SO hard and feel like I am getting no where fast. I just don't get why this is so hard for me now. When I was 16 I lost 30lbs in 2 months on weight watchers. I have PCOS which hinders weight loss but I have been taking the medicine that is supposed to help me lose weight every single day twice a day.

I am trying hard to make myself think that its the effort not the number, but you cant help but get discouraged. It really sucks going to WW meetings and not being able to celebrate a little something.Especially after knowing you gave 110% for that week.

Bah. The good news is, when I feel like this it just makes me want to work out more. It makes me want to get my frustration out on the elliptical.

On a brighter note, my boyfriend is finishing my bicycle today!! I got a new beach cruiser (hand me down from a friend) and he re-painted it for me. (Its bright purple!) and I am SO EXCITED to go for a bike ride tonight!!! yay!

Ugh, you can't post links in comments, but go to the forums and find my post about "Why you gain when you increase exercise" You will feel much better! This is totally normal and will subside once you settle into a routine. ***www.fatsecret.com/Community.aspx?pa=fp&m=90279#90279***

Here, I'm just going to paste the part that will help you the most: The temporary weight gain explained: When someone starts a new exercise program, they often experience muscle soreness. The more intense and "unfamiliar" the program, the more intense the muscle soreness. This soreness is most prevalent 24 to 48 hours after each workout. In the first few weeks of a new program, soreness is the body trying to "protect and defend" the effected or targeted tissue. Exercise physiologists refer to this as delayed-onset muscle soreness, or DOMS. This type of soreness is thought to be caused by tissue breakdown or microscopic tears in muscle tissue. When this happens, the body protects the tissue. The muscle becomes inflamed and slightly swollen due to fluid retention. This temporary retention of fluid can result in a 3- to 4-pound weight gain within a few weeks of a new program. Keep in mind that muscle soreness is not necessarily a reflection of how hard you worked. In fact, some people feel no signs of muscle soreness, yet will experience the muscle protection mechanisms of water retention and slight swelling.

Hi Melheezy! I think we get too caught up with numbers. I get the same way at times. This is supposed to be a change for life. We forget to just enjoy our journey while doing what is good for ourselves. We know it takes time, but the weight will come off with perseverance. and patience. I have been a yo-yo dieter for years reason was that I just lost the weight way too fast and didn't gain control of my habits (emotionally, mentally and physically). You had a great work-out!! You should be so proud of that, and that alone should make you feel great! I congratulate you on that GREAT achievement!!

K8ky, THANK YOU SO MUCH for that!! That makes sense, and defintiely helps me. Its 100% right, as I have only been gaining since I started my new execersize routine. Xana, Thank you too for the encouragement. YOu are right, it is a life change and if I can't enjoy my joruney now then I certainly wont be able to enjoy it (or stick with it) year from now. Thank you thank you thank you! You all are such great supporters.. i appreciate all your kind words.

Yeah, it's really really frustrating but pretty much everyone gains when you first start working out. You will no doubt start seeing that scale moving down soon if you keep it up. In the meantime, it's probably getting a little easier to do the same workout, or maybe you're noticing your body start to change. It's really easy to make it all about numbers (and hard not to) but it's worth looking for other changes, too.

About the bike, my husband gave me a bike for Christmas a few years ago and it's my favorite present ever! I love riding a bike. So much fun. Such a feeling of freedom. Enjoy it!
