i walked the 2/3 mi to the end of our street and back up again today. not sure if it was the few lbs i've lost or the fact that i've been riding the bike at the gym regularly (last week and this week) but it was easier. much easier. i scarcely thought about the walk until i was back home!!! during the last year or so i felt like i could barely do the walk and dreaded it because my knees hurt etc. my back still hurts but my back has been hurting me for a while now. at least my knees didn't hurt so much. i look forward to the day when i can say i did the walk and my back didn't hurt! i used to walk 16 miles when i had lost all my weight, all 170 lbs. i may never walk that far again due to neuropathy probs etc but if i could walk 5 i would be ecstatic. it is worth taking on practically a second fulltime job, the job of planning, executing meals, exercising at the gym etc. i hired a personal trainer today. i'll meet w/ her next week. because of my metastastic cancer i have to go "easy" but i need help to overcome my longterm weakness on my right side due to the extensive surgery i had 4 years ago. its time to move on from that.
