I spoke with my doctor yesterday about the results of some blood tests that I had done. Apparently I am totally healthy, aside from being obese.

One interesting thing that the tests showed was a slightly low testosterone level, which is most likely caused by my general fitness level (or lack thereof), and my sleep habits. So, I have one more reason to drop the weight and hit the gym. The sleep thing might be a little tricky, but I suppose I need to at least try to get more regular sleep.

The low T level seems to be a bit of a catch-22; T levels drop if you're overweight, and a low T level makes it harder to lose weight and build muscle. My doctor prescribed me a supplement to sort of kick-start the fitness process a bit, but I'm not sure if I want to take it. It can have some side effects, and I'm generally against taking any medication more potent than aspirin, unless I'm in the hospital for something crazy. I think more reading is needed on my part before I use it.

The tests also showed a negative reading for ketones in the urine, which I though was interesting because I have been on a ketogenic diet for months now.

In other news, my GF got the Wii Fit Plus for christmas, then left for the week to visit her family, so I have been playing with it in her absence. The thing is pretty fun, and some of the games got me sweating pretty good. I probably never would have tried yoga on my own, but the game mixes yoga poses into its' predefined routines, and I actually don't hate it. It has only been a few days, but I have used it every day since it came into the house. It may not be much, but it has to be better than sitting on the couch.

You sounds like you are READY TO GO! :) I can't wait to see your progress! The Wii Fit IS pretty fun. We have it too, but I don't get on it as much as I should. Maybe I should check it out again - I'm much more into the whole exercise thing now than I have been before. Now might be a good time.
