flaxseed's Journal, 03 Jan 10

I've been flicking through journals and there are lots of people who are starting out on their journey or re-affirming their decision to lose weight and become fit and healthy. This is the start of my third year on my journey. I started out at 178 Kg and if I keep going I should hopefully reach my ultimate goal of 75 kg by the end of the year. I might want to reduce that when I get there - we'll see. I'm feeling as though I've always eaten like this and not as though I'm getting back on the wagon after the holidays. I slipped back into my usual eating pattern as soon as I got home

NO SNOW today! No thaw either though and the forecast is for well below zero temperatures for at least the next week. Minus 18 in the highlands. We've not had any power outs which is unusual in the snow. Today has been another snuggle down and keep warm day and dinner was one of Bullytrouble's crockpot recipes done on the woodburner all day. Scrummy as she would say.

The days are lengthening and we had a beautiful sunset tonight as the sun went down under the horizon all the tips of the trees and the outline of the hills became a deep pearly pink. I tried to take a photo, but the lovely colours haven't come out. My camera is a bit ancient and doesn't give true colours.

Here's to a happy healthy new week to everyone.

I have also noticed lots of new comers and old timers who have rededicated themselves to a new effort. A similar phenomenon happened last year at this time and I was so sad to see so many FS members appear -- then disappear so sudden;y! Maybe that won't happen this year! I love winter sunsets against the backdrop of snow. So pretty!

Congratulations on pulling yourself out of the post holiday funk and posting such wonderful things!! Indeed, a little gain doesn't mean much of anything except time to put ourselves back into our "normal" routine. You have done amazing. I'm so happy to have you here and my warm thoughts for good news for OH are in the air so to speak!! Beautiful picture ... we've not had much snow at all so far this year ... lots of rain and ice!!

The colors in the photo are not visible at all to me but, I have a diminished ability to distinguish colors. My first impression of that photo is to put it into the category: "Pictures Without an Object." ;-) Just kidding flaxseed, one of those crockpot recipes sounds great to me too. Good work getting that chart to turn back into the right direction.
