I just cannot get back in the diet frame at all. I am so disappointed with my lack of progress. It isn't helping that my wife doesn't want me to lose any more weight, so her support is less than it was.

Maybe you could go into maintenance mode for a while? Give your diet a break and your wife`s mind a rest and let everything settle.

According to TrendWeight I am down a pound over the month and only up 0.6 over the past fortnight, so I suppose I am more or less in Maintenance. I weigh myself every morning, but only log the Friday morning figure here, irrespective of what it is.

maybe focus less about on the diet word and think about how healthy you could become if you gave your body all the right nutrients it needs , Is there small adjustments you could make that would have a long term benefit , but you wouldnt miss that much Ie if you take suger in drinks cut from 2 spoons to one spoon and also maybe try a little bit of exercise, i do sit ups when the adverts come on but you coulld march on the spot, dont give up anyway!

Thanks Ayladancer. I don't take sugar and avoid sugary drinks. I try and keep active, walking every morning after dropping my wife at work. I am currently recovering from serious abdominal surgery, but have just been given the go ahead to get back cycling again, so I am trying to do some of what you advocate. I feel my main problem is I am just eating the wrong foods. Hi Carb seems to be my downfall since coming out of hospital.

well maybe try with carbs eating what you are eating ie spag bol but reduce every carb meal by one third so instead of avoiding them enjoy them but measue your pasta, bread potatoes, my thing is creamy sauces, so i am sing more cocnut milk and eating advocadoes, also i find if i eat bread i crave chocolate once i cut out bread my chocolate cravings go

I like bread and rolls too. Thankfully, when it comes to chocolate I can take it or leave it.

Certainly seems to have been a tough month for so many here, but it's understandable that after so much chaos for you lately, it's a bit tricky to get back into the swing of it all. Perhaps if a total carb-ban feels a bit much, maybe try easing back out of them by limiting them to just one meal, upping the protein a bit more if you think it will help you feel more satiated, etc. (At least for me, I can't overeat protein, even if I enjoy most sources...I literally will feel like bursting!)

I can never go totally Carb free. I aim for about 20 - 30%. I love my protein, but Carbs are so easy to amass!
