A loss of 0.1lb hardly worth mentioning.
This past 2 weeks has been busy... occasional bad choices due to complete lack of planning. I have no excuse for lack of planning. I no longer have to go to work ( retired ) and have all the time in the world to make better plans for meals. Problem is, I find myself busier than when I was working! When I worked.. long 12 hour shifts, 2 days/2 nights, I never did much on off days as I was catching up on mother things... housework, laundry, groceries.. cramming all those things into the few days off I had. Now I definitely go slower, but my days are full! I spend more time with my aging parents. I am lucky enough to still have both of them in relatively good health. They celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary yesterday. On Sunday, I took them to visit my younger sister, who recently moved 2 hours further away. My dad, who still drives and is still quite safe with it, just doesn't like driving those longer distances, so... its me! I spend many hours with my 2 year old grandson. I want him to know me, and not just as the old woman who he sees every Sunday. i hang out with friends more... we have long leisurely lunches out during the winter, and on our patio's and decks during the warmer months. My turn to host tomorrow.. and I have taken the time to plan and shop for that, including making some watermelon sangria.....
I talk to my garden... before it was just a chore, now its a labour of love....
Some people don't look forward to retirement. They are afraid... their whole life has been working, no time for hobbies... what will they do when they retire? That was me, no time for hobbies. I was seriously concerned that I would die from boredom when I retired. I'm here to tell you, that this was one of the best decisions I ever made. I did retire slightly early, at 60, instead of 65... and I am loving it!!
All this from a lousy 0.1 pound weight loss......

There are 3 of us girls... I am the eldest. One sister, ( and she was very good with my parents ) moved away..( method in her madness??) the other sister...the youngest in the family, tends towards selfishness. Thats all I will say about that. My brother in law ( little sisters hubby ) once told me, that, due to the nature of my work ( RN for 40 years ) it stood to reason that I would be the one that would end up looking after my elderly parents should they ever need looking after. Like marries like, I think.. he tends towards selfishness as well. Fortunately for me, my brother and other sister, are all attentive towards our parents.
