That is 9 lbs in fluid I have lost since Saturday. It is amazing how much the swelling has gone down in that time. Yesterday I avoided all painkillers, but I was sore and miserable all day, so by 2am, by which time I was ready to take a long walk off a short pier, I relented and took Paracetamol and Tramadol. I went out like a light after that. I still am struggling to eat. I have a fancy for something, Madge prepares it, then two mouthfuls and I am done. About the only thing I am enjoying is Whole milk.

I'd love to be able to go for a walk but a few steps is as much as I am able to manage just now. The expression "a long walk off a short pier" refers to throwing yourself in the sea. In the early hours, that's how low I felt.

I hope the swelling going is helping to relieve the pain somewhat. I know it's hard but you're going to have to be patient with the healing process. Take care, my friend

Keep drinking the milk, Jocko. Just have what you enjoy for now. I hope you're in less pain today.

You have had a time of it lately, to be sure. Amazing how much of a role water plays in the body. Hang in there...try to avoid the pier. :)

Yep, you have a right to feel miserable but hopefully as you heal, the pain from the surgery will subside. I feel for you, I really do. Take it easy and before you know it, you will be ball room dancing again. Hugs!

the painkillers have made a real difference today. Amazing how being relatively pain free makes you feel so much better. My daughter and my grandson came for lunch and I had a pick at the buffet Madge had laid out so I feel much better. About to go for a shower and have my dressing changed.

So pleased the day has been a better one for you. Being clean, having had a reasonable night's sleep (once you finally dropped off) and a bit of food goes a long way to making you feel better, doesn't it?
