Question: In your honest opinion, how much does drinking lots of water effect your weight loss? I havent been drinking as much water as I should and I am stalled. Its really the only thing that is different this go-round than the last 437 times I have been on a diet. Just want some honest personal opinions/experiences. Thanks!

There is a lot of conflicting information about how much water to drink each day and does it really aid in weight loss. I exercise a lot, so it's really important for me to stay hydrated. Water helps flush out sodium when we consume too much. It's important for good health to get enough water to stay hydrated. I don't think it makes you lose weight, but it can help you lose water weight when you are bloated or consume too many processed foods. It also works with fiber intake to flush things out...lol. So that can help aid digestion (especially when you are on a low carb diet like Atkins). I think if you consume 6-8 cups a day (unless you exercise a lot), then you will be fine.

Thanks Suzi! I am hoping thats why I am not losing right now, even though I am watching my calories and carbs.

I do think it is important to drink a sufficient amount of water but I do not believe in over doing it. I, personally, get headaches if I try to drink more than 9-10 cups a day. I will say that if I have a good workout session I may be able to drink more but that is not too often. I believe that for my height and weight I am suppose to drink a minimum of 11 cups. I have tried several times and just can't get them all in without getting a spliting headache. Just my experience.
