I think I am suffering from SAD. The bad weather gets me down even though I am trying to look on the bright side, so to speak. I have to pick myself up, can't go on like this all winter! Maybe it's my cold, they always make me feel miserable and I don't sleep well.

Probably the cold. Are you having bad weather or just cold weather?

I think it's just the darker days, lack of sunshine. Once my cold is better, I will exercise again, that's usually good to lift the mood.

:-(. If it is really SAD you can get lamps for it

I have a sunrise alarm clock. It's brilliant, I always use it in winter. The light comes on gradually over time in the morning. It wakes me up very gently and my day starts happy. I might invest in a SAD light.

A good dose of snot makes me miserable :o(...Sk1nny's right though, lamps for SAD may help. I have to work under masses of daylight bulbs, the entire department is sooooo bright, but it is nessasary for our work. I wonder if it helps, as even though we all get loads of colds, as we have to work in a cold airconditioned environment too, we non the less keep pretty upbeat through the winter months....that or go laze around in a hammock on a sunny palm tree lined beach, with some scantily clad hunk wafting you with his tiny loin cloth to keep you cool...and massaging in your sun tan lotion to stop you from burning.......MMMMMMMM I'm there....lets go!!! Hope you feel better soon XXX

I hope the thought of it put a smile on your face and you didn't hurt if it made you cough AND crack the dry lizzard skin around your nose.....can't wait for my first cold of the season! XX

make sure you get plenty of sun! Its harder in the winter because your skin is covered by clothes. My psychiatrist (i know i butchered the spelling of that) but he told me once that if I was feeling really down to go hop in a tanning bed for some UV light but he made sure to tell me not to go ALOT or for too long because too much is bad for your skin!

Thanks ladies, I will go outside more. It's difficult during the week but there should be a few minutes time at lunch time for a short walk.

Lara, i have a miserable cold too so i know what you mean but i agree with everyone...go outside everyday, even if for just a few minutes. It can change your perspective too. get some sunshine, smell autumn smell, enjoy the fall colors, step on some crunchy leaves(i love that sound lol) Behave the way you are hoping to feel! It might lift your spirits!
