New MrsRando's Journal, 09 Oct 11

Oh! Forgot I wanted to journal about this... I am still using food as a reward but it's healthy food. I'm not sure if this is still a problem. I, like most everyone, am on a budget. This weekend I splurged and got honeycrisp apples and brie cheese. I wouldn't normally buy these if my budget would allow but because it doesn't I reward myself for particularly hard work outs. I hope this isn't still bad...

Since it is healthy and you aren't doing it too often, I say go for it and enjoy!

You know, I really don't have a problem with food being a reward. As much as I understand that food is what got us in trouble, I see nothing wrong with a treat IN MODERATION! If what would make you really happy accomplishing something is a chocolate bar or something else, just calculate into your food budget, and go nuts! Or, if there is no room in the food budget, go a little over, but make it a conscious choice and get right back in the saddle immediately after. Be prepared that you might lose just a little bit less, and enjoy. Just don't do it every day. Of course, having a healthy treat is not a bad choice either. :)

Thanks guys :). After buying those items I realized what I had done and was concerned that my thought process hadn't changed much. But the next day I bought chocolate cake, that was a bad food craving, lol. But I still managed to stay under my RDI yesterday (amazingly enough).
