My wife and I have just come back from a brisk, 45 minute, walk. It is a lovely sunny day but extremely cold here on the east coast My wife is slim, fit and active and a prodigious walker. Twice she had to ask me to slow down and a couple of times I slowed down because I felt her dropping behind. That is a massive improvement for me, who a year ago struggled to walk more than a quarter mile, and whose feet started slapping after half that distance.

Just brilliant, JockoT, flippin' Brilliant.
Hubby has given up going for walks with me as he just can't keep up any more. Shame we are at opposite ends of the country, I think we'd make good walking companions. ...

My half-brother lives in Dunfermline. I only started getting to know him a few years ago, and have been up to see him and his wife a few times. He took us for a drive up the coast one time, absolutely beautiful, and quite unspoilt. I love the Firth too, and the bridge, I mean the railway bridge of course!

It is a nice part of the country. A half hour train ride and you can be right in the heart of Edinburgh.
