Work schedule and school starting back on top of the strain of our cattle business here in Texas, have all kept me away from the people that motivate me the most, MY FS FRIENDS....

I am back. I have been doing well while gone, been getting in some walking in the mornings before getting so hot. The cooler temps have finally come into Texas, in the low to mid-90s YEA. Mornings have been in the upper 50s. Get up and go for a brisk walk with dogs. Haven't been able to do this the last 4 days as our air has been filled with smoke. Had a pretty big wildfire in my community start up Sunday evening. As of today it is 100% contained and 75% out. There were 31 homes lost and 50 something barns and structures, including 2 churches both were historical landmarks. That doesn't sound like a lot of discrution when you compare to Bastrop county where hundreds of homes and 1000 have been displaced, but for a town of less than 1000 it was a lot for our VFD to handle, but these folks did an AMAZING JOB!!!!!

My birthday is next Tuesday, turn 37. For my birthday I want to give myself a NEW ME! I am still in the upper 170-lower 180s which is so frustrating. I have been on every yo-yo diet I can try this year and nothing seems to budge. Been to the doctor and had all the test run on thyroid, cholestorol, etc nothing there either. I have determined its STRESS!!!!

We are in the cattle business so it's been a rough year, husband has been hauling hay in from Louisiana every weekend for the past month and we still don't have all our needs. Financially, it all is a strain as well. But we have built up this business and we are not wanting to let the drought take it from us, but that puts a lot of tension on me and my family. I am a stress eater. Also, stress they say affects your metabolism. I am trying to workout more to help with the stress. Getting up early, walking enjoying the cooler weather.

I am not there yet, but I refuse to be 180 pounds when 40 so have to do something now, at almost 37. I want MYSELF back. I am tired of being in this funk :(

I'm sure stress is a factor. You must live near the Louisiana border if he is hauling in hay every weekend? My grandfather used to live in Kilgore and also in Carthage, Texas. Are either of those close to you? I hear the drought has been bad. Hang in there. So nice to see a journal entry from you. I too find that my FS buddies make all the difference for me. Take care!!!

Actually Kilgore and Carthage are around the area where my husband grew up, that would be about 2 1/2 hours NE from where we live now. Where we are getting hay is actually at the Mississippi/Louisiana border so was a 450 miles trip one-way (about 7-8 hours pulling a trailer).

Ah ... funny your hubby grew up around Kilgore and Carthage. My grandfather has been gone for many years and I was a teenager last time I was in those neck of the woods. Fond memories though. I'm looking to see you back here in full force. Time to take care of you!!!
