trailingthesun's Journal, 30 Jan 24

Dogs are agitated with the coyotes who are extra active ahead of the storms expected to roll in by Wednesday. The guardian dog is doing her job but the rest of the crew is busy "helping" with a whole lot of barking and bluster.

So here I am wide awake and working at NOT having a cup of coco and that crunchy toast with butter and jam... Sigh

Plain hot strong herbal tea is my very deliberate choice.
All good.

I'm impressed with your self restraint!

Ancient hippie, I know how weak I can be! I make my coco from scratch, including heating my cacao and sugar to a low boil before I add my milk. I NEVER premix as I would drink lord knows how many cups in a day lol. Night time seems when my craving for sweets creeps up so I make sure I have alternatives that are not sweet at all...keeping the beauty at bay.

Mountainman, love my girl! She's young, 10 months, but loves her hens and is super sweet. We are under 500 birds and want to expand but without an LGD (livestock guardian dog) we can't use the rest of our acreage. Our birds are open range. We've been here 35 years and don't use any sprays mostly because we're frugal lol, but getting certified organic is costly and margin on eggs is not all that great. So, courtesy of GiGi we are growing and that's a good thing.

Trailing let’s see a pic of GIGI!!! Interesting about the hair and the coyotes. Why do you call them song dogs?

An entire choir here tonight when I arrived home from work. Hot tea is always a good choice!
