Alright, Comic-Con.

Cosplay is seriously addicting. I was literally in a blur of pictures for a while. Kinda like being famous but no one actually wants to talk to you. But more about that later. Highlight of the weekend first! The BF and I went to a showing of the Boondock Saints friday night. The boys didn't show up but as we were walking back to the hotel there they were! Sean Patrick Flannery and Norman Reedus were both heading into the hotel for the night. Naturally, we had to say hi. Super awkward because we were heading in the same direction and all. We ended up sharing an elevator with them. I got to shake Norman Reedus's hand. So awesome! Decided that he's way cooler than Sean in real life. He's down to earth it seemed. Sean didn't really say anything. And Norm is super attractive in real life. So... bonus! Anyway, that was definitely the highlight. We didn't ask for a picture then since we payed for a photo op. FYI the photo op was way less cool. But whatevs. Now I know. If I had to do it over I would not have payed for it.

Actually we had a super fantastic weekend overall. I wish I had stayed in my costume all day on Saturday. I missed the henchmen and the Monarch that were wandering around. :( I did find a henchman on Sunday and get a pic with him anyway. I also couldn't find my camera so we were stuck with Paul taking pictures. That was lame. I wanted a million pictures and him to be in a million pictures and he wasn't in ANY and only took a handfull.

I do believe that Paul held me back a little during this experience. Here's what I would have done different. I would have taken as many pictures as possible. I would have stayed in costume all day (it was his idea for me to change). I would have gone out to eat and had some drinks saturday instead of ordering pizza to the room. I would have spent more time on the convention floor exploring comics and things I don't know much about. I might have even tried for some signatures.

My thought here is this. Do I need a guy that likes to go out and do things or is that what I have friends for?

Girl, I know what you mean about a guy who wants to go out. My ex never did and it ended up hurting my feelings alot because I felt like he didnt want to do anything with me and when we did go out we didnt have much fun. I think that is part of why I left.....Its really just up to you what you think is best.

O M G...you MET SEAN AND NORMAN!!! I'm so rediculously jealous right now!!! AHH! Lucky girl. I so would have asked for a picture with them and an autograph "look, I know this is probably annoying but I don't wanna forget this when i'm old and senile" LOL Glad you had a good weekend but that does blow the bf wasn't as adventurous. Totally understand that one as well. Hope you have a great week.

Oh man! Meeting Sean and Norman was super cool! It was totally awkward but I was way too excited to fix that. Hahah. I'm still trying to figure out if a low-key boyfriend is OK or not for me. Honestly I'm hoping to be more low-key in the future. I guess I just don't want to be with a copy of my Dad! He stays in all the time and you can never get him on vacation or even out to eat ever.

Personally, You should be able to be low-key but still be able to go out and have fun and no offence but your boyfriend sounds kinda like a drag. Friends are great but sometimes you just want to enjoy doing things with your siginificant other, and make memories with them too.

Haha Pixi, I know you're in a mood today so I won't take my BF being a drag to heart. Plus he really CAN be a drag. But we did do cool things overall. I guess I was just way more excited to be in Chicago than he was! But sometimes I look at some "going-out" clothes I bought and never wear and then remember him saying that he would take me out but never go.

From my experience, at first it's OK that your BF is a homebody, but eventually it will get to you. I was in a relationship with a guy who never wanted to do anything except watch TV or lay on the couch. Now that I am seeing new people, I realized all I was missing out on... mostly just being 23, not 43. I love going out and socializing and I've made a lot of new friends though the dates I've been on. I also went jetskiing for the first time ever. I don't know, there's a whole world out there, you're too young to be unhappy with your relationship. At least that's how I felt.

Allie, that's an interesting point about the making new friends. I haven't really thought about it but I've been living in this town for over a year now (almost a year and a half) and there is not anybody less than an hour away that I would even have their number to call and hangout. I know I'm not always the most outgoing person in the world but it is a little ridiculous.

I agree with Allie, I dated a guy that all he would do was watch TV, lay on the couch and sleep... that relationship did not last long because while I am not the type to be "lets go here... and here... and here" all the time but you have to be able to go out and do things and have fun. I say make some friends and get out girl.. you are young enjoy life!
