My last weigh in was May 5th and I'm afraid to weigh in again 😬
The following week I received news that my mammogram came back abnormal and I lost it. Every woman on my mom's side of the family died from cancer so I figured this was it. A further mammo and ultrasound revealed a 17mm tumor in my left breast. At that news I proceeded to eat and drink all the things. Ice cream, pizza, doughnuts, fried foods, burgers, beer, daiquiris, you name it. Then I went to Mexico for a week and continued to eat and drink all the things possible.
The day after I returned I had a biopsy done and five days later I found out it's benign. Since then I've still been eating and drinking everything in sight because now I'm in the habit of it. I know I have to get back in the saddle and I'm ready but holy moly I think I'll stay off the scale for a couple months do I don't freak out.

Been there, done that. At lot of people discount the effects of emotional stress. The way your brain cycles down to the worst case scenario. The little voice in the back of your mind yanks out every mistake you ever made and parades it as proof that you deserve what is happening to you. You go into fight or flight and stay there, you try to drown the negative self talk with food and drink. You want to be around people, but they look so happy and you are dealing with demons inside and the struggle to keep them contained and act carefree and civilized causes such discomfort you want to cover your face and just scream. You are human and you can come back from this, it's easier than you may think.

Ok, so maybe a good idea to avoid the scale for a week or two til you get back on track. So very happy that you have a chance to make a fresh start with this wonderful outcome.

Sorry to hear you had to go through all that but glad it's benign! Emotional eating is a real thing! It sucks that breaking a habit takes no time at all but setting a habit takes at least 20 days...Just get back into what works for you and be diligent. It will return.

🙏🏻Wishing you the very best with your journey here. I know all the struggles with scale and how it can mess with emotions and contribute to the cycle of spiraling 🌀 🌀🌀 ♥️♥️♥️
