I started drinking tea again, specifically Oolong tea. I threw two tea-bags into 20oz of hot water and drank that mug quick. I dunno about you but I feel mellow as yellow. I'm all about cognitive supplements. I prefer a strong mind over a strong body any day. A fit body requires a fit mind to maintain, because if the mind isn't fit, the body that one achieves can be temporary.

I'm well aware of the "drink lots of water to flush out toxins" theory, however I disagree with it in some cases.

I drink half a gallon of distilled water on a typical day, sometimes I drink more if I feel more thirsty but I never force myself to drink water as that's unnatural to do so. Through all the evolution of mankind, no caveman has ever forced himself to drink 1 gallon of water or more per day, especially if he's inactive.

He doesn't preemptively drink water in preparation for an exercise, no, he drinks water after he's exercised (you know, after hunting, stalking, or chasing a prey? probably drink its blood too. I wonder what warm raw blood tastes like? O.O I've eaten cold curdled blood before because my culture eats blood as a delicacy, and it doesn't taste bad at all). What we're doing today is backwards, we preempt water into our bodies instead of following our "instincts" of thirst. Also, the amount of water you consume is determined by the amount of sodium and glycogen concentration in your body.

The more carbs and salt you consume, the more water you will retain due to the hydrophilic properties of these nutrients. Keep that in mind when you're talking about drinking water. The amount of water required is 3-4 times proportional to the amount of hydrophilic nutrients in your body, for example every 1 gram of glycogen in your body can retain 3 to 4 grams of water! That means 500grams of glycogen can hold on to 1,500 (3.3 lbs) to 2,000 (4.4 lbs) grams of water.

If you consume creatine monohydrate, that also makes you retain more water, except this type of water retention is inside your muscle cells instead of fat cells, which can be beneficial if you lift weights. Keep in mind that bodyfat is 14% water by volume, so drinking more water also means blowing up your fat cells, and that's just water retention in your cells, not counting the water (and food) weight in your digestive system. Most people are doing it wrong when they weigh themselves, because they're always weighing themselves after they've been eating all day, not first thing in the morning. That's how you can get an inaccurate indicator of weight-fluctuation.

I had a girl that told me she gained 4 pounds in one day despite drinking only water. When I asked her "how much water did you drink today?" She replied: "I drank 64 oz of water." I'm like: "You do realize 64 oz of water weighs 4 pounds, right?" Smh, the ignorance is real lol.

Dietary fat and bodyfat differ in calories too, anhydrous or "dry" dietary fat contains 4086 calories per pound, bodyfat contains 3,500 calories per pound, with the missing 586 (14%) calories replaced by a volume of water. If you're a carb lover, expect to be more thirsty more often and retain lots of water. The only way to shed excessive water weight is to eat a LCHF diet, because the lowered amount of glycogen in your body makes your body shed the water it doesn't need.
