Eating Hibachi tonight at a local Asian restaurant. I'm thinking the fried rice should be cut to a minimum, if not, out altogether, and I am thinking of getting salmon instead of chicken or steak. Sound good yes or no??

It is always the rice, not the meat that does me in. Maybe you could have some grilled veggies rather than rice? And try to stay away from the Mai Tais. :)

Good thinking on the veggies. It's kind of like a special where you get whatever they give you that comes with the meal. I'll just pass my bowl of rice on to my daughter, and hold out for the miso soup and veggies. I sure love that rice though!!

No doubt, that fried rice is so good! Never hurts to ask about the veggies. They might surprise you. :)

If not the rice, the amount of sodium in the food might cause a temporary weight gain.

Good thinking, but remember...it's okay to have a cheat night. You can also cheat and be good. Since you love that rice, rather than have a full portion, take a tablespoon or two out for yourself, then pass the bowl. You'll have the taste/flavor and it will satisfy you. The other thing--you can go on their website or some of the other calorie counting websites and get an idea of how many calories are in what you want to order. You can still cheat, but be smart about it :)
