You will get better, you just need some time.

Sorry for how you're feeling. My youngest daughter just did the same thing recently and her feelings were the same. It'll get better in time. It's a tough thing to do, but if he wasn't the one for you then you made the right decision and avoided greater hurt to both of you down the road.

I applaud your courage to make a tough decision. When it is "right", you will know it all the way down to your toes! Stay with it and vent all you want here - people will support you!
|
Thank you, all of you. The support means so much more than you know.

Congratulations on being strong enough to recognize that you needed to make the decision you did. It will definitely take time, but you will feel better.

If it doesn't feel right it is probably not. I know for myself I know when something is "right" and there is NO doubt. You will know the "right". Trust yourself.

His mother is coming by where I work to pick up the engagement ring. As restrictive as it has felt on my finger lately, it's still hard to let a stupid piece of jewelry go. Carbon and gold can represent so much.

Yes, but in this case they represented the wrong thing. You will find the right one, and you'll know it when you do.

Better to do this then to marry and be with a person you don't want to be with. You did the right thing now give yourself time and you will feel better. I know Ive been there!

I'm so sorry.
I am twice divorced and these things are never easy, even when it is the right decision.
BIG HUGS to you.
Keep you chin up!
