Most Spars as well as dischem have sugar free maple syrup in the health food aisle. Not Woolworths

You'll find proper maple syrup in health shops.. it has a much thinner consistency than normal syrup.. the syrup we're normally used to is just sugar syrup with maple flavoring. Beware though that real maple syrup is very expensive.. normally between R150 and R180 per bottle. you can replace with raw honey as well.
