alanpfd's Journal, 30 May 11

Akkk! I really thought I had gone off the rails tonight. Today was the first time since I started back at the gym that I did a complete upper body workout. When I got home, I was ready to eat. I decided to up the chicken I was having for dinner from four to six oz. But the real problem came when I opened a new bag of sunflower seeds to put on my salad. Instead of measuring out a tbsp in the kitchen, I took the bag with me and opened it at my plate. After finishing my salad, I started snacking on the seeds from the bag and really just couldn't stop until I had finished half of the bag. I came very close to throwing in the towel for today. I went to the kitchen and had another slice of cheese and was about eat even more when somehow I reined myself in and stopped eating. I considered not even entering today's calories because it just seemed so depressing, but I went ahead at entered everything, figuring I just had to take it like a man. After entering every single thing I ate, I was shocked to find that I was only 300 calories over my goal. Whew! Greatly relieved, and it taught me something important. In the future all eating takes place at my plate and nothing goes with me to the table except what is on my plate. Crisis averted!

Good job, I have had similar experience where I thought I was "cheating" only to find out after counting calories in wasn't enough to feel guilty about.
