Between going to the gym and engaging in some of the forums, I haven't had the time to keep up this journal over the past few days. The good news is I weighed in on Wednesday with a 5 lb. loss for the week, bringing me to a total of 17 lbs since I started. I don't expect to continue losing at this rate, but it is very motivating while it lasts.

I've been to the gym everyday but Monday since I made my return last Saturday. I've been taking it easy to avoid soreness, but I'm up to 25 minutes on the stationary bike and from this Saturday I'll increase the load to two sets on the weights.

I'm in a good place right now and don't see anything that won't allow me to continue until late July. I just purchased my airplane ticket back to California to visit my mom. (The thing cost a bloody fortune -- at least 50% more than last summer.) Trips back to the States have ended more efforts at weight control that I'd like to admit. I have eight weeks to go until then. Even if the weight loss slows to two pounds a week, I'll be closing in on 100 kg, which would equal the lowest weight I've hit in the past 20 years. As the trip grows closer I'll try to formulate a strategy that won't bring everything to a crashing halt.
