Went shopping today and bought some clothes for my future self. Gives me something to shoot for! I bought harnesses for the dogs, so tomorrow I'll be able to start walking. Up till now I haven't been able to go, because the dogs won't let me out of their site! And I've been afraid that they would run out into the road. Now I have no excuses!

my pets get me out of the house even when i am feeling really craptastic.. i am recovering from an op and a long illness, and have lost a lot of mobility, but the dogs deffo help.
I know what fearing for your dogs escaping on a walk is like, i too use harnesses.. i am trying to train my pulling male JRT to use a head halter to stop his hard pulling.. but so far he is fighting that too lol..
How many, and what type of dogs do you have? I find that when i can take the time to split the dogs i have up and do individual walks for each one, that they hassle factor goes way down re pulling, worrying about control/escapes etc and the pleasure goes up.. and in the end i get twice he distance walked (albeit very slowly lol).. mine are just pokey little terriers but even they can pull like mad .. but dog walking is a great way to get back into exercise. Well done you.

They are two chiweenies. The folks around here drive like maniacs, so I've always been afraid they might run into the street. And if I try to leave them at home, they run out the doggie door and chase me down!
