So after yesterday's whing and complaining I'm sure everyone is very curious of how day one of the cleanse went. By the time I got home from work I was starving, feeling exhausted from the lack of calories I'm sure so I ate an apple and had a small amount of peanutbutter. I was pretty tired and irritable through my evening classes but I made it! This morning I looked sooo skinny and weighed 128. It's amazing how one day of eating like this could get rid of all the excess baggage I was carrying around.
Now I'm suppose to continue on the cleanse today but I'm slowly adding somethings to the day so that tomorrow I don't go into shock and gain it all back by eating junk. So I had a kashi waffle this morning and I'm adding some fatfree cheese and light dressing to my salads. My calories will still be low for today and then tomorrow I'll ease back into more calories but still try and eat better.
As long as I make it through today at work I am taking myself shopping tonight. Nothing fits which makes me feel sloppy. If I feel better about the way I look then I'll feel more motivaed to eat better.
Losing this weight helped me realise that I will be able to lose more I just have to work hard at it but I am also happy with where I am now. I don't want to diet myself to a very low weight and then the only way to stay there is by constantly restricting things. I know at 128 I look good but can also enjoy a treat every now and then. I definately feel more in control than I have.
I skipped the gym this morning to sleep in and it ended up taking me twice as long to get ready. The gym helps me get going in the morning, I'm hoping to make it there tomorrow!

What is this cleanse you are on? It sounds better then some I've read about where you drink lemonade and cayenne pepper mixed together, ICK! It's gotta be hard to cleanse, I can't imagine you having the energy to workout!

I read about the lemonade cleanse too, no thanks!! I don't know that this cleanse is as much of a cleanse as it is eating clean food. I lost the 2.5 pounds I put on in the last few days over night and have no bloating at all. It's also helped to curb a lot of cravings, so I'd say it's been a succuess. It's suppose to be a two day cleanse. Here are the guidelines: Breakfast: 1 tsp peanutbutter 1 cup of almond milk 1 cup of berries (I used half blueberry and half strawberry) Ice -Blend into a smoothie Snack Half a cup of cucumbers 1 cup of green tea Lunch Raw Greens and 4 oz of lean meat 2 tsp of oil (olive or seaseme) I had romaine lettuce and chicken, no oil. Snack 10 stalks of asparagus, blanched 1 cup of green tea Dinner Raw Greens and 4 oz of lean meat 2 tsp of oil (olive or seaseme) ...I got really hungry after work and ended up eating an apple to get some sugars in my body. I feel really great today. I am still doing the cleanse but adding things back in today. I'm sure I will do something like this again after easter when I can stick to more low carb diet.

So I certainly acknowledge that you know your own body far better than I do, AND that different things work for different people, so with a grain of salt, here is something to ponder. My doctor gave me the tip that a good way to stay thin is to "avoid the white stuff" starch/flour and sugar. Now I certainly have not made this into a science or follow it religiously by any means. What I HAVE done, is just been conscious and made an effort to general avoid these foods on a regular basis and keep them in moderation. (ie, I'd pick yogurt and fruit over a pancake for breakfast). In terms of sugar, I could care less about what I get when it comes from fruits, but I like to stay in moderation with it from 'unhealthy' places. There may be nothing to this at all, and it could just totally mental for me, but I find that I feel better and have kept off my weight by doing this. It's not to say I don't ever eat the stuff (I had half a bagel as part of my breakfast yesterday), but it's just something I keep in the back of my mind when making choices. A few weeks ago I went out to this lovely local brunch place and had a pancake; I felt SO weighed down in my belly and super lethargic! So this is one of those 'tips' that may be total nonsense, but I thought I'd throw it out there! Just keep listening to your body; I think it's really smart how you're weaning yourself off the cleanse too!

Your tip isn't nonsense at all! When I first started dieting and I was 200 pounds I did south beach which cuts out all white's and sugar then slowly introduces the whole grains again. I lost so much weight doing just that. Actually eating too much of that stuff had me feeling so heavy and bloated the last few days that's why I decided to do this cleanse. I feel so good eliminating all those things. Now I know they will be reintroduced this weekend with the holiday and all but I plan to cut them out again next week to hopefully be on my way to goal!

I treid the lemonade diet once and it was horrible. The cayene pepper and maple syrup mixed in is a horrible mix. Yuck I get sick whenever I smell maple syrup now. Congrats Jillian on the confidence and feeling good about yourself, that is the key.
