Been hitting the gym and getting on the eliptical trainer for 30 minutes for a total body workout. The frustrating thing is that I work my butt off for those 30 minutes and it barely burns 98 calories...and that is 30 solid minutes equaling over two miles!! I get a good sweat going and it just doesn't seem to account for much.

What I really need to do is work on my belly and "love handles".

One good thing, though...I have noticed enough of a change in my face that I now keep clean shaven. Before I would keep the scruffy look because I felt it distracted from my round face.

maybe theres something wrong with your eliptical?lol! check it out, as 30 mins on my treadmill burns me about 300 odd calories??!!

That's what is so confusing. I'm going to get on another machine next time. I could probably do well on a treadmill..but I just get SO bored on that machine. The eliptical is almost like cross country skiing and it just feels like I'm actually working harder than on the treadmill. Tonight it's grass cutting time and I have a nice steep hill behind the house that is a workout itself to get done. I'm just tired of this plateau...AAAAARGH!!!

It sounds like machine not working. I can do 30 minutes on elliptical at level one and burn 300+ calories. In fact, I usually make a deal with myself that when I hit 500 calories, I can stop (takes 37 minutes).

The only way to accurately know what calories are burned is by wearing a heart monitor. Your eliptical sounds too low. Some elipticals are too high.
