Pizza (free at work) made me feel like a balloon. I wonder if it was the sudden grease in my stomach, or if there's something to the gluten allergy thing my mom keeps pushing on me.

First time cooking eggplant. Not bad, but I don't think I could go without chicken.

There is a lot of salt in pizza sometimes.

I love pizza and I know it is one of my biggest weight factors. All breads and white starchy foods in fact. I have only been dieting no breads or white starchy foods for 6 days and I have already lost an inch on my waist. There must be something to that wheat belly thing

It occurred to me that it might actually have been the cheese! I've suspected that I have had some level of lactose intolerance for a while...I used to make that taco dip all the time, where you just mix taco seasoning into sour cream, but I eventually began to feel like an overfilled balloon every time I ate it! It's the same feeling! I've eaten other types of pizza though, and I've been fine. Maybe it's just certain types of dairy products? Or certain brands? I dunno. Not worth the experiment to find out.

Pizza (my favorite food) is so hard to measure in calories. You can't weigh it because every pizza place uses different ratios of dough, sauce and cheese. Pizza sizes can vary from bite size to super size slices. Thickness in the crust and the amount of cheese also makes it difficult to judge calories. Toppings throw another wrench into the mix. When I do eat it, I figure around 400 calories per slice and eat only two slices (3 or 4 used to be my norm). You can make a healthier version at home using whole wheat pita pockets, your favorite sauce, low fat cheese and some healthy veggie toppings. We bake them right on the rack of our toaster oven and they come out great.
