Janelleas's Journal, 18 May 09

Weight: upward, but it's not like I didn't deserve it. too much travel with friends, too much celebrating, too much food, wine and too much over-indulging. I hope to work at it more now that I realize I need to make sure I quit gaining and at least control my weight better, even if I don't lose, I must not gain. Still hoping to meet my goal at some time in the future.

Life & our schudle of events: Busy, busy, busy.

We just got back from mexico trip.

May 15th: Just got back from two day trip out of town for graduation of son-in-law.

May 17th celebrated birthday with friends for big champagne breakfast and dinner out again that evening.

Today: Planting flowers in garden and on patio pots for upcoming entertaining on patio with company arriving.

May 20th: Long time best friend is coming this Wednesday (in two days) for visit, fun and frolic. She will be here from May 20-27th.

June: trip to Yakima, WA to visit hubby's family that we have promised to them all winter long.

June: company coming as soon as we can give them an opening in our schedule.. some of hubbys family relatives have wanted to come visit us but we have not been available yet.

June: trip to Dallas for grandson's graduation from police academy and visit with family there that is gathering for this event. After graduation he is heading to Saudi Arabia with his reserve unit.

There are lots of things being added to our calendar all the time.

Fatsecret activity: will be limited due to acitivy, spring and summer plans, trips, fishing when we can fit it in. I will keep my journal and try to check in occassionaly but it might be fall before things slow down around here.

I am thinking of you all and I do look in on you from time to time. I notice some of my buddies are not here as much right now also. Hope you are all doing fine.

If you can just maintain through all that entertaining and visiting, you will have accomplished a lot. Good luck with the moderation and enjoy all of the fun you have planned... just not too much!!!

You are one of the busiest people I know, all those vacations and visits and family time. How fun though! Just do what you can and remember to stop and smell the roses. Good times and happy family memories better than anything else. Just remember as veggies yuk and I put it now..."You can stop and smell the roses, but they do need a little pruning from time to time too." You can manage your nutrition and visits I'm sure! Go get 'em mom!

Hi Janelle, It sure is difficult to maintain when one is in the company of others who are celebrating one thing or another. Still, you are almost twenty pounds lighter than when you started here and I'm sure you can direct and focus yourself in a way that allows you to continue onwards towards your goal. It is important to enjoy oneself though, we only live once. Good luck my friend.

Thanks for the kind words and encouragement everyone. Hubby has been trying to get our boat motor started for a few days now without success. The "Boat Doc" that usually serviced our boat each spring and winter retired and he is trying to do that himself now without much success yet. he has a plan though and hopefully it will work, company coming likes to take the boat down the Snake River and to the falls, also watch the base jumpers jumping off the Bridge high above us. we got plants and flower pots done yesterday, today we need to go stock up on groceries for company arriving tomorrow and my dental appt today. I am having terrible "CRAVINGS" for carbs and sweets lately and I believe it is because I have been eating those bad foods. Now with so much company and eating out I am sure I cannot go to phase one to get rid of them, but need to really figure out a way to mentally keep ignore those cravings. I am NOT HUNGRY... not at all, just cravings are really bad. I think i will try to make a tape recording/CD telling myself all my goals and why I will stick to my diet and play it each night. I meant to do that some time ago but never got around to it.

Good idea about the tape recording! Until you get it made, saying positive affirmations to yourself can help. You live such a full and interesting life, you deserve a fit and healthy body to enjoy it with! Have fun with all your adventures!

As Veggies told me, 'you've done it before, you can do it again.' It is going to be super hard with so much company and fun times. Don't you find fun revolves around bad (good) food? I think that i would buy special food snacks for myself that are a real treat but good for me too. You know the things that are a little pricey and not every day food items. Have a great summer, sounds like you are well on your way.

have no idea how much I weigh and will not weigh in now as it is late Afternoon and the moment has passed. Long time friend left today and now I am trying to catch up on deskwork, emails, phone messages, laundry, re-make beds in guest rooms, etc... life! Hubby has still not managed to get that boat motor started (although he honestly hasn't been working at it)... so we didn't take any fishing or boat trips up/down the river here. Visit was great except that friend got sick with a minor infection and had to stay down and rest for a day and half, we ate at home most of the time because she was not feeling well. She prefer's my cooking anyway. We played mexican train and cards when she felt like sitting up for any length of time. It was still a great visit. Now we are looking into getting our tickets to fly to Texas and checking to see if we are going to be able to make the trip to Yakima..and let the family know our opening dates for more guests :) Ill be checking in when the site pester's me to weigh in. sorry all,I promise that just like General MacArthur... "I shall return"!
