So it's day 2 of the Atkins induction phase and I have had no ill effects or crazy cravings since being on the diet. But, around 2pm this afternoon I started to feel very weak... not tired or sleepy like, but physically, like my muscles were about to give out. I assume that my body is starting to enter into the withdraw period and is adjusting to the lack of carbs/sugars. Eh, that’s ok with me so long as I am losing (or end up losing) weight. My cheeks and stomach already feel less “puffy”, I’m not sure if it’s just psychological or there is really a slight deflation that has taken place. I am looking forward to tomorrow and the next day though, which is something I have never said, nor felt on any other diet. Cheers.

Shae. It looks to me like you are not eating enough veggies. Do you have the new book?Or go to the Atkins site and check on doing Atkins right.You need 12-15 net carbs from foundation veggies.Also check your balsamic dresssing for sugars. Some are really high in sugars and carbs.You can do this.

Yes, I've noticed I'm not eating enough veggies and so far have been eating under the minimum amount for carbs... I've just been so full by eating so much fat and protein (I'm guessing that's why I am full). And the aged balsamic & olive oil vineaigrette had 0 carbs, or maybe it was just 1 carb... I don't remember and I don't have the bottle in front of me. I am a bit confused however on how to consume 12-15 net carbs from the foundation veggies when the new Atkins book says to only have 1 cup of veggies (no salad ones) and 2-3 cups of salad veggies. I had 3 cups of salad and hardly gained any net carbs from that... I think I fell right under 3 net carbs. So hypothetically if I followed the rules and had 1 additional cup of non-salad veggies I still wouldn't hit close to the recomended 12-15 net carbs per day. Perhaps I am reading their instructions wrong, and no I do not have the book... I have just been going by the Atkins website and I got their free starter pack in the mail with some small booklets.
