Jillian04's Journal, 31 Mar 11

I remember when I was 201.5 pounds (my top weight) and I'd run into people from high school who would say I heard you had a kid? My reply? "No, I got fat." Sure that made them uncomfortable but I was uncomfortable with myself so what did it matter?
I still remember the day that I was in my bedroom with my mom (after losing 20 pounds) and one by one putting in all my size 5 clothing in a bag and saying I just have to accept my weight, I'll never be that small again. It was a sad day and I felt defeated which happens often in this weight loss journey. It isn't easy, everyday is a struggle and sometimes you feel like no one in the world understands.
But today I was not defeated. I bought those size 5 capri's I was eyeing up for a few weeks and guess what? They fit! I zipped them up buttoned them and there was no "overhand". That wasn't the last test though, I sat down with them on and NO BULDGE. What a success!
I feel wonderful today; I'm on a mission. I won't get there tomorrow and I won't get there next week but I WILL get there.

That's awesome that you were able to get into the pants that you thought you'd never fit into again. It's the small victories that make this journey one worth traveling. Imagine if you started dieting and saw no change until you were done!? No one would ever want to do it. It's gauging your progress and being proud that you accomplished something. Sure it's about appearance and physical health, but the mental part, that's what's most important to me. And you certainly seem to have both of those under control. Congratulations on your small victory, it'll make the big one seem so much sweeter :) !
