Rowanfair's Journal, 24 Mar 11

I tried going back to work yesterday but I only lasted two hours. I guess I'll try again on Monday. I haven't been around FS too much, just keeping my food recorded and skimming ASM. I apologize for neglecting my buddies.

Being sick, I just haven't been into cooking. I am being pretty good with my salad and foundation veg but I have been allowing more low carb processed products than I would prefer. I am not having cravings but I am definitely feeling more hunger pangs. Don't know if it is the products or the legumes or the fact that I haven't really been managing to have snacks. Or all of the above. I really want to get back to some kind of regular schedule without unexpected naps or other things.

The scale suggests that 165 was a good estimate of my actual weight, so I am glad I didn't record the lowest values. I hate to see the number rise.

I re-read the Atkins book chapters on OWL, pre-maintenance and maintenance. I am doing things "by the book" but I do seem to be one of those with a fairly low carb load available to me. I laugh at their scenarios where people consistently lose two lbs a week. In my dreams. But I haven't really minded my slow pace. I am in this for the long haul.

Don't apologize for looking out for you...we will still be here when you are recovered. What does your maintenance number look like yet...have you decided?

I haven't decided/figured it out. My net carbs are still between 20-25g atm and I lose maybe 1/2 a lb a week. My total carbs have gone up a lot lately due to the high fiber tortillas and Dreamfields pasta, sometimes as high as 70g a day (pasta! eeeep!). So I'm thinking maybe I can get up to 30-35g net but I haven't felt like I can handle the experimentation. So once I am well and after I get back from Europe in early May I plan to start being very scientific about raising 5g a week and see what happens.
