Doctor appointment went well yesterday. We spoke a long time about my issues. I am going to attempt the NutriMed diet that Scott & White offers. It is a lot like nutrisystem, bars, shakes, soups, sensible meal. I can buy the product as I go along, so didn't have to spend $100s yesterday. The shakes and bars are actually good. Bought a box of shakes and then one box of bars. I am supposed to eat those mix/match items 4 times then one meal I prepare a day, snacks such as carrots, fruit, etc. I am pretty sure my lifestyle won't allow me to eat like that forever, but going to give it a month and see how it goes. I should be eating around 1200 calories a day with this plan. I am to exercise 7 days a week a minimal of 15 minutes. Plus with having to go in monthly to report to him, maybe that will motivate me to keep going. We talked about the Phenetermine my sister-in-law is taking, but he advised against it for me. He might consider some hormone replacement later if I start to lose and the factors such as tired, no drive, etc doesn't pick up naturally. My thyroid issue he said the symptoms don't match as normally with a high thyroid you lose weight rapidly, are hyper, trouble sleeping. He believes my is metabolism and mental. I am beating myself up about the weight, frustration, stress, etc.

So in a nut shell, no miracle cure like my co-worker who dropped 35 pounds by getting her thyroid working right and taking cortasal and progesterone. I am stuck the old fashion way, eat right and exercise :)

Dr. feels my tiredness, low drive, mental state is all due to the weight and if I can start losing, all will kick in through my metabolism. In the Sept 2009 I weighed 166, yesterday at appt weighed in at 182.5 (3pm appt). So he could tell I had gained, but the good news was that I wasn't where I was in 2007-2008 which was in the low 200s. So he was not excited I had gained back the weight, but he was glad I put a hault before I got back into the 200s again.

I'm glad you went to the Dr. and are getting the ball rolling. I'm not a big fan of the new food plan you'll be on, but like you said, it won't last forever. Maybe durring the time your on it, you can read up on how you should cook/eat for yourself after your done with it. Good luck!!

Sara, me either really but I felt I could give it a try for a month and see what happens. It was really hard to do today as I was on the road for work. I did mix up the shakes and carried in truck in a insulated back with ice pack. I am thinking they will be a good breakfast and maybe dinner on the days I am not hungry but in the long run I need to look at some type of lifestyle that is more easy to follow and stay focused. I felt I should give this a try and see if it helped as it would give me a set meal plan, etc. I do however feel it is only a short term solution for me.
