7 months to gain 19 lbs

2 months to lose them...(give or take a month or two)

I'm still ahead of the game.! But the months to gain were nothing like the months to shed them.

It was so long to lose them. That must be because of the expectation. The impatience, also the up and downs in the weight I'm reminded of a kid. 'are we there yet, are we there yet.

That's kind of worrisome because it's not the mind frame I should have if I've changed my eating habits for good. It suggests an end.

that's what I have to work on. Keeping my daily good eating habits and not look at the number of days before the weigh in. The anticipation is making the journey so much harder.

I don't feel deprived, but I feel it's a hell of a lot of work. The convenience food is so much easier. (and non perishable)

I really needed this loss.

I've got to cook and freeze stuff to make it easier.

I didn't exactly follow the WW, can't for the life of me record everything.

But while I was recording it did give me clues as to the caloric density of certain foods that I was overindulging in. And that was very helpful to pinpoint where I was stalling in my weight loss.

Another Week!

Are we there yet?

Can someone tell me the significance of the colours on the weight progress bars.

Please.

Red
Yellow
orange
blue

I think that red is the start of the diet, when you're far away from your goal. Orange is when 1/3 of your goal is completed. Yellow is 2/3 completed. Green is almost at goal and blue is maintenance. There is no rush Monique with the weight loss since you have to live like this until the end of your life. If you go back to your old habits you'll just gain all the weight back. I am happy with the 1 or 2 pounds drop per week, I don't want to end up with lose skin.

Thank you Snezica. Due to my age, I think lose skin will be a fact of life. You're privileged to have the maturity to do this while you're young. I'm happy for you! You're doing extremely well on all dieting counts.

Way to go woman!! I'm glad to hear that you're not feeling deprived. And yeah, the recording is pretty eye-opening. For the impatience, would it help to reframe it as Snezica mentions? Just look for 1 lb a week? I know it can be hard when you see people drop 3-4 lbs and week and various plans "guarantee" losses of 2 or more a week. Yeah, well the truth is that will not happen with some metabolisms and various food/lifestyle choices. I've made peace with that. As to the ease/difficulty issue -- sometimes to me it feels like a new job skill. When you first start doing it's tough. You have to stop and think out every step. After a while it becomes second nature and you can do it before your morning coffee ;-) Give yourself some time to settle in to the new routine. I really like the cook/freeze idea. We also tend to fix meals with an eye toward leftovers in a day or two. Keep up the good work. You're moving in the right direction!
