These past two days were very light days at work. I was scared that I would overeat becuase I would ahve more time to do so. However, I did not. I was pleasantly surprised! I did not try and go to the snack machine. I did not wish that I had a bag of skittles in my purse. Insetad, I was content with my usual sandwich and fruit. And I am happy for that. I consider that a small victory.

It also makes me wonder if it is stress that makes me eat. I know that I eat when I am bored, which made me wonder how I made it through the past two days without overeating. But I have also noticed that if I have a lot of work to do, I turn to food to eat instead of actually doing work.

I just think that I have to make eating a less central part of my life. It is just so enjoyable to me. I love food. I love to eat. And people make food that is so delicious. I wish I could just make it into another one of life's functions, like going to the bathroom. Where it is something that I don't look forward to, just something that happens. I'm hungry, and I eat. Instead of, oh, I'm bored, let me eat. Or oh, I don't want to do work, let me eat.

Sigh. Eating does not equal bathroom.
