djezeski's Journal, 13 Mar 11

Well, last week was my birthday week so I didn't watch my intake as closely as I should have. I enjoyed a lot of restaurant meals, most really good. I am not going to feel guilty about it but I definitely have to get back on track this week. I also only worked out one day (Wednesday) because I think I overdid it that day. I'm not sure how, since I didn't increase the weight I was lifting by much. All I know is that I have been so sore that it was hard to walk until today, so I probably need to be more careful about adding weight. I also am looking forward to the protein powder that I ordered arriving. I am having trouble getting the amount of protein I need to stay full without also getting a lot of fat. So that's what has been going on with me.

Glad you enjoyed your week! Are you documenting your training? I've found that's been a great way for me to progress my weight responsibly. I have Tasks created in my Blackberry so while I'm at the gym & can look & see exactly what I did last week. If I did 9 reps @ 100 lbs last week, I know I'm shooting for at least 10 this week at the same weight. Hooray for protein powder! I've been experimenting with it a lot lately, my favorite is iced coffee protein drinks. I have them every day. :)

I use an app called Jefit on my Droid. It logs my weight and reps and syncs to an online account. It shows what I did the last time I did the routine I am working on, so I generally add 10 pounds and do as many reps as I can under 10. If I can do 10, then I might add 10 more pounds and see how many I can do. I think I just wasn't ready for that extra 10 pounds last week. I was also eating not that great so maybe that made my muscles take more time to heal. Who knows? So far so good this week though! The protein powder arrived yesterday, 10 pounds in what looked like a big garbage bag. LOL.
