Yep, tired all day. And just a feeling of below par, no energy. I've felt this way often. My go to feel better has always been wine. Cures it everytime :) But now, I've let go of wine since May 6 (ouch!!!). It's not only the wine I let go, because I never had wine on its own. Always with cheese, and fruit, and crackers and whatever. I had to make a decision. Do I want to continue drinking, or do I want to get thin and take off this fat suit I've been wearing since I'm 9.

Besides, a lot of sugar in wine which, at my age and weight, would be a good lead to diabetes.

After 30 days, the wine was no longer an issue. I don't miss it as much I as I thought I would. Besides the calories and the expense, it was neve an issue. But when I feel like this, yikes!it was good to have. Right now, I would have wine. But, if I do I won't be able to tell myself I've quit drinking since May 6! And that is a feat after drinking regularly for at least the last 10 years. Same as the smoking, I quit smoking 4 years ago. Had been smoking since I'm 12! Never smoked much though, but the regularity of all those years are big conditioners. How did I quit smoking. I started drinking more wine!!! (at the beginning) lol

OMG! ha ha. I am sitting here with my vodka and pretzels ..in my attempt to ward off evening food cravings. I smoked ciggys for a long long time...just to lose weight. Took me years to quit. Sure hope I don't get addicted to the alcohol.I'm tellin' ya..if it ain't one thing..it's another. lol

@CM I have a friend who did say, 'When I don't drink wine, I crave junk' I did drink sometimes because I had cravings to eat.' But I ended up eating because I was drinking. The way I found not to have those cravings is to eat unprocessed foods. If it comes in a box, or bag, stay away from it. In my case, even though I don't have the processed foods, I still overeat (fruits are my go to food in times of stress). I wish it were plain vegetables, then my weight loss would be more rapid.

it's funny you drank wine to quit smoking. when i'm drinking all i want to do is smoke! i started smoking to lose weight too. stupid. wine makes me kind of sleepy, so i could never use it to increase my energy. i have low energy all the time and haven't found anything that really works. i do drink coffee and tea, but the lack of energy is so profound that it really doesn't help. i definitely love fruit more than veggies.

Primal blueprint is a compromise on the carbs. < 50 is ketosis, > 50 and < 100 sweet spot for losing weight, > 100 and <150 maintenance, > 150 and <300 slow weight gain, > 300 health problems in your future. I am just putting this out there to add to the carb conversation. Not to judge anyone else's plan. It is less restrictive than Atkins.
