I was on shock last week when I checked my weight. I lost only one pound. I wonder if it is my age stopping the weight loss...I am following a diet and my exercise is very intense..plus all the yard work I do on the weekends. Even my neightbors critize me for the large amount of time I spend at the gym. Hope next saturday I will have better results. My friend (ex trainer) told me next saturday my weight has to be under 230 lbs...let's do it than!

I had the same issues. I have a crazy gym schedule 6 days a week, usually 90 to 120 minutes. 30 minutes cardio warmup, 30 minutes daily of intense ab exercises, and 45 minutes of weights. My clothes were definitely loser but the scale wasn't moving much. Turned out I was losing fat but gaining muscle, which is a good thing! Now I can pretty much eat what I want within reason and my body just burns it off naturally. So I'm thinking your going through what I went through, dropping big squishy fat and gaining nice lean muscle. Also, the really big thing I was doing was not eating enough! Your body can't fuel itself if you work out but don't eat. My favorite go-to meal is about 3 cups of 50/50 mix of baby spinach and baby spring lettuce, a whole sliced tomato, half a cucumber and topped with about 4-6 oz of slice chicken breast and dressing of your choice. Keep at it! Don't give up!

losing 1 pound a week is perfectly reasonable. i would not want to lose more. slow and steady wins the race.

Weight loss takes time. Google "why the scale lies" for insight in to why other factors can mask our loss on the scale. A pound (think 4 sticks of butter being what a pound of fat would look like) is great. You are losing fat (loose clothes) and may be retaining some fluid in your muscles to help them heal.
