Indulge in favored veggies- mine are artichokes and pickled asparagus
Don't get ravenously hungry. That's when I am in danger of overeating unhealthy food.

I always recommend nuts and seeds for late night snacks. Dense food but light weight in your stomach. Green tea, low sodium tomato or veg. juice. Lime juice over veggies instead of vinegar or salt/butter. For things I wish I had done earlier I'd say reducing high glycemic index foods and doing simple stretches (or yoga if you prefer).
