Ok, so how did my 'paying attention to hunger' go ???
Well, ate bkfst a little earlier than normal, by about 1/2 hr. *8:30am
then went until 12:30 before even thinking about food.
saw the clock, and thought oh, it's lunch time... but then I thought - wow, not really hungry yet.... now it's time to pay attention, and see what happens... somewhere around 1:30pm decided I was ready to eat.
had a small lunch, and did not over eat. Ate rather slowly, and enjoyed it, but didn't serve myself alot to begin with... (figured I could have more if I wanted to...but didn't want to.)
then went on to not notice any hunger AT ALL until about 6:00pm - made leftovers for my mom and husband, and a decent salad (2 cups) along w/ a meaty pork spare rib. (the big ones w/ the bone in). I am feeling very full...not stuffed, but definitely a little too much.
Would like to get thru the night without looking to munch or snack... Didn't snack last night and I liked the way I felt when I woke up this morning. I felt terrific! And I slept really well last night.
Will continue this experiment over the weekend.
Hope you guys are all well. Much Love.

You probably already know alot of the things you can have to snack on that will help you. Recently someone told me about deviled eggs. Anyhow I feel a little funny giving advice to a seasoned Atkins person but thought that this might help. You are one of my role models my friend. Love ya!

Cindy - it's not that I don't know WHAT to snack on... I just don't want to 'overeat'. I am trying to notice my body's signals for feeling satisfied, versus real hunger. If I really feel hungry, I will have something. But if not...I liked how I felt when I woke up this morning. Not overly concerned about the weight at the moment. Just experimenting to see if I can tame my habits of 'overeating' portion wise. I always felt over-full after most meals. I don't want to continue that. Much Love to you too! Have a great weekend!!

Sorry about that...I must have misunderstood. You are a very wise lady. We all should listen to our bodies when they aren't hungry. Have a great evening my friend.

This is very much what I've been doing. I am enjoying noticing the hunger signal and how well it works. Next I will work on the "fullness" signal :)

Paula, once you are tuned into your body, it can be quite natural to follow. Great experiment for you!:)

Been so lost in what (and what not) to eat - never though about listening to what my body might be telling me. Please keep sharing your journals.
PS - Love your new Avatar.

I was just saying to a coworker that I hadn't been hungry last week. But I followed social cues to eating my lunch- when everyone else ate, I ate. I also have read a lot of people advise to eat small meals or not to go stretches without eating. So, I figured it was a good idea. I am a little confused... do I follow my body or do I risk going into starvation mode which will reduce my metabolism? I don't know. Maybe I should just give it a try as well.

This has become easier for me to follow but before it was more about listening to my hunger and stopping when I was full. Now its more about eating to fuel my workouts... Hunger is pretty much in control right now and have found I get hungry every 5-6 hours for my bigger meals and between its usually a snack.
Awesome on experiement buddy.
