Welcome it's a great community of helping people around the clock. Great ideas for ways to jump start your own journey. Ultimately it's up to you to set your goals and achieve them. But it's always nice to be surrounded with like minded people. Who are all also on the journey. Good luck to you!

Welcome to a really supportive community. Try to eat simple whole unprocessed foods when you can. Cutting carbs and adding healthy fats works for me. It doesn't work for everyone. You may need to experiment! Take it one step, one day at a time. It may take time, but it's worth it, right?

Find activities that you like to jump start your exercise. I started with neighborhood walks with friends then progressed to hiking.

I’m with you girl! Let’s do this together! My daughter is getting married in December and I want to feel good in my dress and in the pictures.

Finding a diet that really works for you and makes you feel energetic is key. For me, I found that having a strict and easy diet that I don't have to think about works really well.

You can change the amount of the intake so that the numbers match better for you. You and I are at similar weight and goal. I am working with a nutritionist that started me at 2200 calories but gradually dropped by lowering carb and fat intake every 1-2 weeks. Right now I am at 1700-1800 cals and losing 8-10# a month. (Slow and steady will keep it off)
Breakdown if you want to try is 140 protein, 155 carbs, 70 fat. 5g +/- of each should be fine.
Sorry if its TMI, I am just very satisfied with it.

Best wishes! FS helps keep me accountable for what I eat, and lots of encouragement is available here. Everyone is on a WOE that they feel helps them most. Try some of the challenges!

I prefer the desktop interface to any smartphone app I've every used. Be honest but patient with yourself.

Good luck to you! Yes- the calories are so easy to eat and forget about sometimes. When a graham cracker completely disintegrates in my coffee... can it STILL be 60 calories? Yes- It can. ;) Recording every calorie is a must for me.

You're taking a first step. It gets easier. You'll have ups & downs. Logging food keeps you on track.

Hi Daphne - PW inspired me to try My FatSecret as well! I've been "tracking" since Monday. I'm down 3.6 with consistent entries. I know that loss rate won't continue each week, but it's a start. You can do it - we are here for you!
