Ruhu's Journal, 24 May 14

Ruhu 2, Evening Overeating 0 -- I had another good evening ATF last night and feel really good going into the long weekend! I had self-packaged some single servings of my sugar free sweet treats (unsweetened carob chips, unsweetened coconut & nuts, and sugar free chocolate covered almonds), and had one last night for dessert which I enjoyed while eating it mindfully. My health coach had suggested that I pre-package them myself ahead of time including the intention that I was doing so with thoughts to eat them mindfully with intention & attention. It worked, and my enthusiasm for the weekend ahead continues.

DH got home, tired & jet lagged, but happy to be back in the same time zone & with no travel plans in the near future. We're to play tennis this morning, but the weather looks iffy, although we may just get it in before the rain returns. I slept much better last night, he was in & out & back in bed now as the time zone issues continue for him. I'll do more of my book work this afternoon in hopes of getting it done before the nice weather comes, if as predicted, on Monday. Mass this afternoon and dinner with DH after, if he's able & in the same time zone as me by then!

Wishing you all a happy, healthy Memorial Day weekend, for those in the U.S. I'm starting mine in prayer --

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen.

And, I'll pray, breathe, log, journal & express my way on this one day and each one meal, moment, bite, thought & emotion. I'm armed & ready for the weekend and know that if any cravings or disordered eating thoughts arise, I can pray, breathe, email, journal & distract myself with active activities, and that if after I pause I do decide to eat, to stay curious and be kind to myself. I'm so grateful today for each of always supportive you, my family & IRL friends, having DH home safe & sound, a fun and healthy weekend ahead, hot bulletproof coffee and having the health & wealth to live this life I love! xoxox

Loving this score. How about a nice chalk board / white board / or even a plain sheet of paper that you post somewhere real in your life. You can see it and remind yourself of how wonderful you're doing.
