I don’t understand why I have gained a pound when I keep under 500cal a day. Ugh the disappointment.

I'm not sure what you should be at calorie wise, but 500 may not be enough and your body is going into starvation mode.

Very few are carbs. You’re probably right I might need to reverse what I’m doing calorie wise. I definitely need to work out more. I need to find the time too.

Try alternate day fasting (ADF) . At 500 calories you are already doing everyday fasting. Your metabolism increases within for 24 hours after fasting then begins to decrease after 36-48 hours thereafter. With ADF, you get the benefit of the metabolism boost at 24 hours, and then you get to eat normally on alternate days (does not mean you can binge, just three healthy meals plus a treat) and you can have a small 500 calorie meal on fasting days. THis will calorie cycle, you get the benefits of autophagy on alternate days and your weight should come off quickly especially if you pair your eating days with a lower carb regimen (but DON"T calorie count on regular eating day. Eat to satiety.) Read "Feast, Fast Repeat" by Gin Stephens or look at her website if you want more info.

I had that problem before, to remedy to that I started to rotate the amount of calories, one day at 1200 cal, next day 700 cal, next day 1200 cal, next day 500 cal. etc So one day calories normal and next day with very low, always alternate. That worked for a while... not I have to introduce fast, so some days instead of low cal I have to go no carb (I am at 20 pounds of my goal) I also recommend you go very low carb, under 10g. And forget about work out, that will help you in MANY ways.. but not for weight loss...

Another benefit of Intermittent or ADF is that you don't have to work out like a maniac, but working out moderately in the fasted state has additional benefits because human growth hormone increases with moderate fasting (again, NOT LONG TERM FASTING, but moderate 18-24 hours of fasting then normal eating to satiety) So, you BUILD MUSCLE FASTER. https://drkellyann.com/blogs/news/three-amazing-benefits-of-fasted-exercise

Hi, I am new to this, but from what I know, you need to eat more to burn more? 500 and under seems too little, I have tried that and gained weight instead probably cause of the stress of putting my body through it. I have now found that around 1000 - 1200 is ideal for me for steady weight loss. I am concerned about losing muscle mass. good luck!

I’ve had 500 cal all this month daily and I’ve lost 11 pounds but now I’m at a standstill For the past four days and somehow gained a pound that’s my issue right now. Should I go out to 1000 then the start of 500 again?
