Had a health check yesterday and while not as involved as some I have had, I was pleased with my results. I am below numbers where I should be and above numbers where I need to be (cholesterol, liver numbers, blood sugar). I have to believe diet is a big part of it. My family, not that unhealthy compared to lot of southerners, all have or had some medical condition I have managed to avoid. I'm active, eat better than they do and exercise. I'm a month away from 54 years old and I still get a weird look from nurses when I tell them I am not on medication even over the counter stuff. 13 years ago I was right in line with the rest of my family - on meds, overweight and eating crap. Even before dropping weight I managed with exercise and a better diet to get off meds in under a year.
