I am going to do a ten day juice fast. I am not doing this for weight loss, I am doing this to reboot my system and clean my body out of harmful chemicals and bad greasy food. I know I will lose some weight which is good but this is more of a reboot desire. I am starting on the 12th of May. Why am I starting so late and not tomorrow, well since I am going to just be drinking juice and nothing else, I have to slowly get off food and start eating a little at a time then slowly start skipping a meal and then skip two meals. While doing that I will need to eat lots of fruits and veggies before my fast. And I know most of you will say, 'well what are you going to do when you stop your fast, you're just going to gain all the weight back'. Well no, I plan on going vegetarian (I was a vegetarian for 9 years before I met my husband) so I know about vegetarian. So when I get off my fast I will first be eating only fruits and veggies. Then I will progress to eating very small meals (no meat) only two times a day. When I say small I mean small saucer plates. I will still exercise everyday. My body will learn to eat right without eating junk food.
I know fasting will be hard especially on the second and third day but I will get used to it. I know I can do this because I do have will-power. I am so positive about this that I know I can do this even though it will be kinda hard to not be able to eat whatever I want. But I want to start over and start fresh and start eating fresh.
Wish me luck! Please feel free to inbox me or comment and ask questions and feel free to judge me or wish me luck. I like to see all persons reasoning to this and why I should or shouldn't do this. :)

I don't understand why anyone would do a fast, but at the heart of everything we have to do what works for us. Fasts, do not make sense or work for me, so I don't get the reasoning behind doing it at all. With that being said, you do you and I'll do me. Good luck! It will be hard and I hope you get the results you are looking for.

I've done 1-3 day water fasts in the past. After my oldest's pre-eclampsia I did a Daniel fast (just fruits n veggies) to help reboot my system. I went from doctors discussing heart medication (my bp was 235/170 the day he was induced, it was hard on my heart and system) to after the fast my ekgs and heart rate were much better. I still have to watch heart rate, but I think that is mostly from also being on asthma meds now. Best of luck, the science behind fasts is sound, if they are properly done.

I repeatedly considered the fast after watching Joe Cross's 'fat, sick and nearly dead' documentary ~ I think it would be fantastic to get that much nutrition in a single 'glass' rather than trying to physically consume that much food in quantity. Any radical change will affect the body and I believe the juice fast helps give the palate and system a noticeable change. I'm sure you've seen a physician prior to starting this and will have some measurable lab results to compare before and after to confirm if it really does help your body.

I just did a three day cleanse. It was not just juice. It was the Colorado cleanse, with indian spices, mung beans and rice. It is supposed to help with intestinal digestion. Also, I lost 5 pounds in the process. That helped to kick start my losing weight. I had to do the adjusted version because after the first day I felt tired and week. Make sure you adjust as needed or check with your doctor.
